If you missed out on the San Diego Comic-Con this year, you’re in luck because there is another comic book convention coming up right in your backyard.

The second annual Long Beach Comic Con will be held Oct. 29 through Oct. 31 at the Long Beach Convention Center. The event will predominately feature professional comic book artists and writers on the show floor, at discussion panels and meet-and-greet events.

Popular figures from the entertainment world will appear at this year’s show as well.

Costas Mandylor, who appeared in several of the “Saw” films, will be signing autographs and Bruce Boxleitner of “Tron” and “Babylon 5” fame and Thomas Jane, star of HBO’s “Hung,” will also be on hand.

Long Beach Comic Con, put on by MAD Event Management, held its inaugural show in October 2009. It drew nearly 6,300 people to the Long Beach Convention Center to take part in the festivities.

The first show was opened by none other than Stan Lee, co-creator of such characters as Spider-Man and The Hulk, and Robert Garcia, a member of the Long Beach City Council.

The event will be held Oct. 29 from 1 p.m. until 8 p.m., Oct. 30 from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. and Oct. 31 from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.
