Author to guest-star on 'Arthur'

Well this is going to happen. During the week of Halloween, English sci-fi and fantasy author Neil Gaiman (“Coraline” and “The Sandman”) will make a special visit to Elwood City on the Oct. 25 episode of “Arthur.”

Episodes of “Arthur” are usually divided into two segments and the one Gaiman is appearing in is called “Falafelosophy.” Gaiman will encourage one of the show’s characters, Sue Ellen, to create her own graphic novel.

The second segment of the episode is called “Tales of Grotesquely Grim Bunny” and will also deal with the world of comic books when a local comic book store in Elwood City changes management and starts stocking more horror comics—much to the chagrin of Plain-Jane Arthur.

As a former reader and watcher of the “Arthur” series—I stopped watching the show sometime around middle school—and a fan of Gaiman, I’m psyched for this episode.

It combines the highlights of my child and adulthood into a mishmash of awesomeness.

How the people working on “Arthur” were able to get Gaiman to voice himself is beyond me, but I’m not complaining.
